Lmao this game is so fun. Saw my classmate play it in class and downloaded today.

I just have a few questions:

1- Will there be a steam release soon?

2- Will there be multiplayer ever?

3- You should create a discord so that the community can ask questions and stuff like that and so everyone will be able to be notified about updates easily and report gliches more easily

multiplayer would be kinda cursed problem to solve for pogo3d. I’m working on a multiplayer game that could in theory support pogo sticks as vehicles which will more than likely be the form multiplayer pogo takes.

I want to do a steam release, but I have a job and another game (as described above) that is also eating up some of my time.

I could put up a steam release now for early access but it wouldn’t be “finished” until the end of the year

having an early access is better than having a "release" that might be unfinished, i think

I think I have officially done it. I think I have completed everything this game has to offer in 1.2.5.

Classic Pogo, Silver, Custom, Golden, all completed the main game.

Every secret, found.

And now the challenges have officially been completed.

What have I missed? I found the well behind the waterfall, I got all the quarters (which you should be able to see in an achievements tab in the main menu or something), I found (and completed) the secret level by the throne room, I've been behind the red gate, is there anything I haven't done in this game? Let me know.

"bug": when you view the challenges menu in the browser without being full screened, the arrows that switch between the pages are partially hidden behind the challenge buttons.

it might be a hardcoded resolution for where the arrows and buttons are, causing the predetermined size of the button to go past it, because the windowed resolution is so small.

I’ve seen this too. I’ll look into it I feel like the UI is too fat on fullscreen too… I know minecraft has a similar menu UI to me and it shrinks it down pretty aggressively

Bug: dying after completing the game (you do this by facing downwards) puts you back in a semi-frozen main menu after the credits. You can enter the settings, but the background is frozen, and you can't start an adventure or enter the challenge menu. Tested on chrome.

Dunno where to post all these bugs, they clog up the comments.

hm… I fixed an iteration of this bug that affected all versions. I’ll look at it again

thanks lol, I'm currently doing castle infiltration, the one you made earlier, and I'm getting really close to <15 seconds, but I can't get the last jump.

Cheers for checking it out. Yeah there are a couple of routes, depending on how fast you go. For me going straight ahead and then doing a backwards jump onto the last roof works okay. But if you're real fast you can skip all that.

um so i may have discovered a bug where if you pause and exit to main menu in a place thats visible in the main menu, the hud elements remain...

yep. even after reopening the game the bug still occurs.

yeah it took me a bit lol. it’s kinda similar to the wall jump part of the secret level but the slant makes it a lot harder

this balloon challenge i just made is straight up just a hide and seek with the balloon.

the spiral climb in the yard is actually ridiculous, i think thats harder (to beat the devs time) than both of the ones mentioned here combined

Throne room checkpoint doesnt save

like you picked up the ticket to let you start from the throne room, but it doesn’t show up under starting points for adventure? what browser / OS are you using? I can try and fix the problem if I have that.

This sounds like a problem that wouldn't depend on any of that. Pretty much anything you do breaks the checkpoints in some way.

Here is repro for one version:

1) Start fresh in browser (chrome for example)

2) Play until you get the custom pogo, and chapter 2 & 3's checkpoints

3) Go back to the menu

Result: I don't know. Sometimes you don't have the custom pogo even if you got it, and you don't have checkpoint 3 or even 2.

Sometimes you get checkpoints 1, 2 and 4.

Sometimes you get all four.

I think this is hard to find in the game

i forgot about this area. when i first made it I think I died 100 times trying to get through the fence hole

I thought there would a secret there when playing, but I went in the other way around, you can make the jump both ways

I managed to fall down the monitor and avoid the teleporter and jump around in the black and green zone, it was cool.

Where do I spend my coins? Nowhere? :(

Also this is a fun place to be with the golden pogo lol.

After over 1000 deaths and the timer said I played 117 hours...  i finally beat it

bruh theres no way i found this its kinda useless rn but it could be good,go into the sewers and go to the fan part ,but instead of going into the pipe to get into the final part go onto the wall,get it right and mabey we could clip into the ceiling.

i encountered some bugs with the golden pogo i think, like in the drawbridge area the water never rises when using the golden pogo, is it a trigger with the checkpoint that doesn't get activated?

My other project (jumpchat) i’m a lot more invested in, but its not really any specific game as much as a set of tools for creating new games. Just as an example, I could port pogo3d into the jumpchat engine to support multiplayer, replays, customizeable characters, multiple vehicles, etc. like I’ll make a level editor in the jumpchat engine, and then no matter what games I make after that, they will all have a level editor.

maybe I won’t specifically port pogo3d over, maybe another game of a similar style. what other games do you speedrun?

you can simply check my sr.c profile, it has what games i run there. I usually like 2D games, but recently I've been trying to find 3D games to run, like A Craft of Mine (which didn't get put on sr.c)

But also, what you're saying is jumpchat is kind of a "game engine" of sorts? if so, that's pretty cool

yeah haha a game engine inside a game engine. that’s the idea

if you have multiplayer in a steam release, you can make levels that require multiple people, like a puzzle that needs 2 levers pressed at the same time, that sort of thing

yeah if you beat the game with the silver pogo (less checkpoints) you unlock the golden pogo (NO checkpoints)

Amazing concept. Fun challenge game.

Very cool game!  The pogo stick mechanic was really unique and interesting, I enjoyed the difficulty level, and the low-fi visuals reminded me of 3D games I played as a kid.  The secrets added some nice depth too.

I completed all four levels plus the throne room bonus area and collected three coins, I would have liked to get 100% but I think that's all I have time for right now.

A few critiques:

- I thought the "indoor" areas were too dark, I could barely make out anything in most of the sewer level.

- The Yard felt sluggish and a bit tedious compared to the other levels.  The game felt the most fun when you were moving fast and trying to avoid flying out of control.

- The color palette was a little drab, I think you could brighten up the colors to make things feel more lively.

- After completing the last level in Firefox, the screen went black and I had to reload the page to continue.

Just a thing i want to mention, with updates and speedrunning could you make older versions downloadable? If you do, I can properly add a version variable to the sr.c page.

maybe not every single build, but if I change something that ruins speedruns somehow I’ll obviously host the older version. I don’t plan to lengthen the “main story” any further past what it already is. Additional content will be secret levels attached at branch points along the “main story” or standalone oneshot chapters

speaking of lengthening the game, if you ever do make a steam release PLEASE add a level editor

(so players can make their own custom additions to the game)
